This site is about obscure rock bands from the sixties to the eighties. They are from the era when records were the dominant audio medium and some of them can only be found on vinyl. Some groups released a single album in their brief history while others have been around for years but never reaching superstar status. They all shared the same goal, to be successful, but when fame and fortune eluded them they decided to call it quits. A lot of good music has slipped into history and may have only been heard by a limited audience. This site is dedicated to those lesser know bands, their dreams and the music that they produced.
Every band has a page with a photo, their biography, discography and a music video. The cover art contains pictures and information of interesting album covers. On the Vinyl Blog you'll find album reviews and articles relating to music. The music links is a list of places that sell albums and other vinyl related information. The band links is a very large list of classic rock bands and musicians. The music page will take you to every video on the website and the sitemap is a shortcut to every page on the Final Vinyl. I am always adding bands, videos and other interesting stuff to the Final Vinyl but the main focus will always be on the aspiring bands from the 60's to the 80's. If you have any questions, comments or are wondering about a band from that time span just drop me an email at, info@thefinalvinyl.com.
The following pages are about the art and pictures that can be found on album covers. The size of an album gave artists, photographers, and graphic designers plenty of space to work with. A lot of the detail was lost when the CD replaced the vinyl albums.
